It usually starts as a growth named polyp, which forms on the inner wall of rectum or colon. Not all polyps become cancer over time, but the possibility does exist. Colorectal cancer can be prevented by finding and removing polyps. Deaths caused by colorectal cancer have decreased thanks to tests which check for blood in the stool such as fecal occult blood tests and colonoscopy.
Lung Cancer
Lung cancer is further classified into three types. The most commonly diagnosed, with approximately 85% of lung cancer cases, is the non-small cell lung cancer. The next type is the small cell lung cancer. Also called ‘oat cell cancer’, it amounts to around 10 to 15 percent of lung cancers and tends to spread quickly. Last but not least is the lung carcinoid tumors, also known as lung neuroendocrine tumors. This is the rarest when compared to the other classifications, and the tumors usually grow slowly and hardly spread. It is important to know which type of lung cancer you have as it affects your outlook and treatment options.

Breast cancer can begins in other parts of the breast too. There is also invasive breast cancer, which spreads from the breast ducts or glands to the surrounding breast tissues. While breast cancer usually happens to women, men can, albeit rarely also contract the disease.

Most prostate cancers begin in cells that make and release mucus and other fluids. Often, it has no early symptoms, but as it spread into later stages, it may cause men to have weaker flow of urine or urinate more often.
